Crash barriers and concrete barriers

A crash barrier keeps vehicles on the road: it prevents them from running off the road or crossing into oncoming traffic, and protects people on the work site from traffic.

Use

When you need a crash barrier

When signs and markings are not enough. A barrier does not just warn; it stops the vehicle and redirects it back into the lane.

Roadworks where workers are right next to traffic
Deep trenches next to the carriageway
Temporary separation of opposing lanes during reconstruction
Places with a steep drop or obstacle next to the road

Barriers along the length of your work site

Priced per linear metre

We calculate the barrier length exactly to fit your work site.

Installation and removal

We bring the barriers to the site, install them with end terminals and markings, and take them away when the work is done.

Traffic management plan and approval

We set the length and layout according to the traffic management plan. If needed, we prepare the traffic management plan and get it approved ourselves.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a crash barrier next to a trench?

If a deep trench is right next to the carriageway and a vehicle could drive into it, signs and cones are often not enough. A crash barrier is then used. The traffic management plan, together with the road owner's requirements, determines the protection needed. We can help you assess what suits your site.

How is crash barrier rental calculated?

We calculate the barrier length by the linear metre, matching the length of the work site exactly. The price also depends on the rental period, end terminals, transport, installation and removal. We give an exact quote based on the work site details. If the length of the work site changes, barrier sections can be added or removed.

Does crash barrier installation need approval?

A crash barrier is part of temporary traffic management and must be shown on a plan approved by the road owner. On a national road, the Transport Administration (Transpordiamet) approves the plan. On a local road, the rural municipality or city does. If needed, we prepare the plan and get it approved ourselves. This way, you get the plan and the barriers from one place.

Can the crash barrier be moved during the work?

Yes, if the work site moves or changes, we can reposition the barrier. The change must follow the approved plan, and if needed, we also amend the plan. When the work is finished, we take the barriers away. We agree the time for repositioning with the site team.
